Washington DC – Alain Werner of Civitas Maxima, Hassan Bility of the Global Justice Research Project, and the Center for Justice & Accountability, along with some Liberians working for them, have been implicated in alleged fraudulent operations. It has been revealed that an insider witness was planted into their operations before and during the prosecution of the United Nations protected witness Gibril Massaquoi’s case.
When Finnish NBI Investigator Thomas Elfgren attempted to discredit their insider as a means to win their case, which was allegedly brought to them by Civitas Maxima and GJRP, they reportedly came after the whistleblower. However, upon realizing the extent of evidence against them, they reportedly backed off.
The whistleblowers claim to have collected substantial information over the years regarding these NGOs coaching, paying, and recruiting witnesses to make false statements against Liberian war actors and non-Liberians, leading to court trials. The NGOs are said to be running out of options due to the forensic evidence against them.
The whistleblowers maintain that these NGOs will not be involved in the Liberian War and Economic Crimes Court. They pledge to remain vigilant regarding the activities of these organizations, both internationally and in Liberia. They also refute rumors that the court will be held in Ghana, asserting that it will be set up in Liberia.
