Renowned American rights defender, Dr. Alan White, is set to return to Liberia to advocate for the establishment of a War and Economic Crimes Court, according to diplomatic sources. This will mark Dr. White’s second visit to the country within a span of two months. It is believed that President Joseph Boakai extended the invitation to Dr. White, signaling a renewed commitment to addressing the issue.

President Boakai has faced criticism for not fulfilling his promise to establish the War Crimes and Economic Court. Speculation in Liberia suggests that the President may have deceived the Americans on the matter, causing dissatisfaction among top sources in Washington, D.C.

These sources have reportedly confided in the media, expressing their unhappiness and indicating a willingness to take radical action against the Boakai Unity Party Government.

Allegations have been made that President Boakai, fearing potential repercussions from the American government, has taken the step to reinvite Dr. Alan White to Liberia. It is worth noting that President Boakai is in coalition with one of Liberia’s notorious war and economic crime suspects, former INPFL rebel leader General Prince Y. Johnson.

Dr. Alan White’s return to Monrovia signifies a renewed push for justice and accountability through the establishment of a War and Economic Crimes Court. The Liberian government, in collaboration with international partners, will face the challenge of addressing these allegations and ensuring that justice prevails in the pursuit of lasting peace and reconciliation.
