Monrovia, Liberia – In a thought-provoking social media post, Abraham Godsent Wheon, the manager of Freedom FM Radio, has raised concerns about the current state of Liberia and its governance. We question whether the country has achieved the better Liberia that was envisioned during the elections. He also expresses frustration over the labeling of himself and his colleagues as regime journalists and the accusation of not loving their country.

Wheon highlights the punishment faced by professionals who strive to uphold the true values of their respective fields. This, he believes, has allowed incompetent and unqualified individuals to hold key positions within the governance of Liberia. Wheon was making apparent reference to the withdrawal of Cllr. Bobby Livingstone, who nomination as deputy information minister by President Joseph Boakai allegedly for his role in prosecuting former Liberian Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott in the murder of her daughter.

He suggests that God is on a mission to vindicate he and others and bring about positive change.

The social media post by Wheon has sparked a discussion among the public, with many individuals expressing their agreement and sharing similar concerns. The post serves as a reflection of the frustrations felt by professionals who are committed to the development and progress of Liberia.

As the conversation around Liberia’s governance continues, it remains to be seen how these concerns will be addressed and if steps will be taken to ensure the realization of a better Liberia that upholds the true values of professionalism and competence.

“We are getting there,” concludes Wheon, expressing hope for a brighter future for Liberia.
