Monrovia – Feed the Hungry USA, through its Liberian arm, Feed the Hungry West Africa, expanded its monthly food distribution to four more orphanages on December 21, 2024, This initiative, part of the ongoing “Every Day, Every Child” program, is a significant part of Bishop John Allan Klayee’s long-standing commitment to alleviating hunger and poverty in Liberia, a mission he began in 2006.

The most recent recipients of the program’s generosity were Peter Seclco Orphanage Home, Lehkpehs Town Orphanage Home, Temas Orphanage Home in Bomi County, and Children Rescue Orphanage in Mount Barclay. These orphanages received essential food and supplies, including rice, cornmeal, clothing, footwear, and toothbrushes, which provided much-needed relief for the children and residents.

Bishop Klayee emphasized that the feeding initiative is a year-round effort and not just a seasonal program. “Feeding the hungry is more than just a seasonal act; it’s a calling. This is part of our regular routine, and we are committed to serving the less fortunate every day,” he remarked, highlighting his devotion to making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable communities.

The first distribution event took place at Lehkpehs Town Orphanage Home, where Bishop Klayee expressed his joy in giving back to those in need. “We are hopeful that these supplies will have a lasting impact on their lives,” he said. Beneficiaries were deeply grateful, with one child sharing, “We appreciate Bishop Klayee and his team for bringing hope and support when it’s needed most.”

Through a partnership with LeSEA Global Feed the Hungry, Feed the Hungry West Africa has established 19 feeding centers across Liberia, supporting over 19,000 children. The program’s reach extends to schools, churches, an elderly community, and even a hospital in Nimba County, showcasing its broad impact in addressing food insecurity.

Bishop Klayee recounted a poignant moment that affirmed his mission. “A child once embraced me tightly and told me they had no one else to love them. That moment reminded me of why we do this work,” he said, reflecting on how such personal encounters strengthen his resolve to continue the mission.

The success of the program is made possible by the strong network of support from organizations like Liberty Church in Fairfield, California, and the cooperation of the Liberian government, which ensures that shipments are cleared in a timely manner. Bishop Klayee expressed deep appreciation for the continued collaboration, which helps maintain the flow of aid.

Administrators at the benefiting orphanages lauded the initiative for providing hope and comfort to Liberia’s most vulnerable populations. “This program brings light to the lives of many who are often forgotten,” they noted.

What began as a small effort in 2006, when Bishop Klayee took in three abandoned infants at his church on Old Road, has blossomed into a nationwide program that now helps thousands of children and families. By the end of that year, the program was already caring for 19 children, and it has grown exponentially since.

Bishop Klayee’s humanitarian outreach goes far beyond orphanages. The program regularly distributes food to schools, churches, elderly communities, and even healthcare facilities, further expanding its impact. His connection to LeSEA Global Feed the Hungry, which was made possible by his relationship with Liberty Church, has been key to scaling the program’s reach and effectiveness.

Through all of this, Bishop Klayee remains steadfast in his belief that true ministry is about more than preaching. “Ministry isn’t just about what happens in the pulpit,” he says. “It’s about being there for people, meeting their needs, and sharing God’s love through our actions.” This philosophy underpins his approach to humanitarian work, which continues to transform lives across Liberia.

As the program grows, its mission remains clear: to provide essential support to every child and vulnerable individual. Bishop Klayee’s dedication to service, grounded in love and compassion, continues to bring hope to communities throughout Liberia. His leadership stands as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can create lasting change.

Through initiatives like Feed the Hungry, the organization is not only addressing immediate hunger but also uplifting the spirits of those in need. As the program continues to evolve, it ensures that Liberia’s most vulnerable populations feel seen, supported, and valued in a world that often overlooks them.
