Controversy Erupts As President Boakai Faces Criticism For Appointing Over Tenured Positions In Liberia

President Joseph N. Boakai

Monrovia – In a recent development, Anderson Miamen has raised concerns about President Boakai’s actions in appointing individuals to tenured positions that are already occupied. The Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia has strongly criticized this move, labeling it as both wrong and illegal.

Miamen emphasized the importance of President Boakai respecting the existing tenures of individuals in these positions, highlighting the inconsistency in such appointments compared to past actions. He urged the President to uphold his promise of bringing about positive change and avoiding past practices.

CENTAL has called for the establishment of an Ombudsman’s office to address any complaints against officials who may have breached the Code of Conduct for Public Officials. The organization stressed the need for President Boakai to reconsider these appointments and ensure that all actions are conducted in a lawful manner, in line with his commitment to transparency and accountability.
