MONROVIA – The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) proudly acknowledges the exceptional journalism of Jonah Mulbah, a local reporter renowned for his courageous coverage of the devastating explosion involving a petroleum tanker in Totota, Bong County.

Tragically, this incident claimed the lives of over fifty individuals, with numerous others currently receiving medical care in hospitals located in Gbarnga and Monrovia. Jonah Mulbah, employed by Radio Totota and Spotlight TV Liberia, demonstrated unparalleled bravery by documenting the initial chaos following the tanker crash, which was transporting gasoline to nearby Nimba County.

Journalist Mulbah’s coverage not only captured the unfolding events but also the subsequent efforts of law enforcement to prevent people from accessing the tanker, culminating in the heartbreaking explosion. The videos, showcasing the harrowing human suffering, have proven instrumental in aiding first responders to identify the deceased and those injured.
