MONROVIA – Former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott and three others have been found guilty of Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, and raising a false alarm to Law Enforcement Officers and will continue to serve their prison sentence.

Jurors reached a majority “guilty verdict” after considering arguments from both the prosecution and defense, declaring Scott and the others guilty of all crimes charged.

The defendants were charged by the Special Grand Jury of Montserrado on allegations of Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, and giving a false alarm to police on June 12, 2023.

The indictment stated that on February 22, 2023, the defendants armed themselves with a sharp instrument and pepper spray, inflicting several bodily injuries on Charlotte Musu that led to her death.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges and the defense argued that they were wrongly accused of a crime they did not commit.

The defense claimed that the prosecution failed to provide evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, while the prosecution argued that the evidence and circumstances clearly showed the defendant’s liability for the death of Charlotte Musu.

After a majority guilty verdict from the jurors, the defense team announced an appeal to the Supreme Court.
